Lionel Enters Into Partnership with NASCAR!

Becomes the Official Manufacturer
of NASCAR Die-cast Race Cars

Dear Lionel fans:

On July 12, the new NASCAR Teams Licensing Trust announced that it had made a deal to form a Joint Venture with Lionel to exclusively manufacture and market its popular collection of NASCAR die-cast race cars.  If any of you are NASCAR fans, you know that these cars are the biggest collectible in the sport, as well as the primary way fans interact with their favorite teams and drivers. Over the years, tens of millions of these model cars, first produced by Action Performance and later by Motorsports Authentics, have made their way into the collections of race fans everywhere.

NASCAR sought Lionel out as a partner because of our experience and expertise in making the highest quality die-cast products, and meeting the expectations of the most discerning consumers and collectors. And as you know, NO ONE is more discerning than a train fan!

This is an exciting day for Lionel. We believe this is a perfect marriage of product and opportunity that will allow Lionel to grow without straying from its core skills and experience. Rest assured that our new NASCAR partnership won’t take any focus away from our train business. In fact, this will only increase the resources we have to devote to strengthening the train hobby, as well.

So I hope you join me in thanking all the folks at NASCAR and Lionel who made this possible.  And hopefully, we can get a couple of you to become as passionate about racing as you are about trains!
