Lionel Announces Second Installment in Historic Layout Series
Partners with Pennsylvania’s Choo Choo Barn
(Chesterfield, Mich.,) – Lionel is pleased and thrilled to announce the second installment of the Historic Layout Series – this time partnering with the Choo Choo Barn located in Strasburg, Pennsylvania. Working in conjunction with the owners of the country’s most recognized and beloved train layout attractions, Lionel is replicating fun, whimsical and prototypical accessories from their layouts.
Typically hand-built, one-of-a-kind creations, these famous layout accessories are replicated by Lionel as close to the originals as possible for consumers to add to their own train layouts. The second installment of this series can be found on the famous Choo Choo Barn Layout located in the heart of Lancaster County's Pennsylvania Dutch Country.
Since 1961, people across the country and around the world have come to visit a truly unique attraction. The 1,700 square foot layout of Amish Country includes 22 operating trains and over 150 animated figures and vehicles. Visitors are treated to an elaborately detailed display that takes you skiing down mountain slopes, under the big top of a fully animated three-ring circus, and to an authentic Amish barn raising. If you make your way down Main Street, you can view the Strasburg Memorial Day parade and a blazing house fire, complete with fire truck with blaring siren and real water dousing the burning house.
"We are honored to partner with the Choo Choo Barn to continue this series," said Product Manager Eric Shreffler. "When you see the Choo Choo Barn layout, it is like looking at a miniature Lancaster County which makes this new line of accessories extremely exciting due to their high level of complex detail. "
The new, accessory products include a "Balancing Man" (6-24172), perched at the top of a wobbling ladder, an acrobat seems to push his luck as the ladder says back and fourth. Hold on there, sir!
Also featured in the second installment of the Historic Layout Series is "The Scrambler" (6-24179) an amusement park type ride that is designed to make people dizzy with its rotating center column and spinning clusters of seats. Motion sickness medicine is recommended but not required to board this ride!
