|Lionel to Host Historical Factory Toy Auction
CHESTERFIELD, MI—Lionel will offer many of its legendary products in an auction on July 11-13, 2001 at the Lionel factory, featuring surplus products, service parts and vintage promotional materials. This event came about as a result of moving the manufacturing facility offshore.
A pre-auction inspection day will be held on Wednesday, July 11. Attendees may inspect the auction lots to review what is available and decide the items for which they would like to bid. Inspection will begin at 9 a.m. and end between 6 and 7 p.m.
Also, throughout the day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, July 11-13, special items such as display kits, paint masks, arbor presses, decorating plates and miscellaneous train parts will be available for sale for predetermined prices.
The Lionel Factory Auction will be held on Thursday, July 12 and Friday, July 13. Bidding will begin each day at 9 a.m. and continue non-stop until all the scheduled items have been sold.
