STANDARD GAUGE SETS

Standard Gauge Tinplate Commodore Vanderbilt
In 1934, New York Central Hudson #5344 was fitted with a sheet metal shroud and became the first streamlined locomotive in America, dubbed the Commodore Vanderbilt. Almost immediately the locomotive’s futuristic design made it a popular prototype for toy train and model makers. In 2002, the Commodore Vanderbilt returns to the rails. The locomotive is built from tough die-cast metal and features TrainMaster Command Control and the RailSounds sound system.
