Union Pacific ALCo PA Passenger Train Set
   The Union Pacific Railroad pioneered high-speed passenger streamliners in the 1930s. After World War II, streamlined passenger cars were still a preferred means of travel. In 1947, Union Pacific took delivery of the new 2000 horsepower ALCo PA passenger diesel locomotive. The powerful PA’s streaked across the West leading long Armour Yellow and Gray Mist colored trains. The new Lionel Union Pacific ALCo PA Passenger Train Set recreates the exciting style of these classic streamliners. An all-new ALCo PA A-B-A set pulls seven newly detailed aluminum passenger cars. The Union Pacific livery includes car names taken from the famed 1950 Lionel Anniversary Set. The new Union Pacific ALCo PA Passenger Train Set promises to live up to its inspiration.
   The PA locomotive was the pride and joy of the American Locomotive Company during the postwar years. Lionel designers strove for accuracy and reliable performance in creating this new model of ALCo’s “Glamour Girl”. Produced from all-new tooling the ALCo PA A-units and PB B-units feature many accurate separately applied details such as see-through screens and pivoting diaphragms on the rear doors. The TrainMaster Command Control system, RailSounds sound system and the Odyssey System for speed control highlight the high performance features.
   The aluminum passenger cars have detailed, lighted interiors with many all-new features for 2003, including separately applied streamlined vestibule details including a working rubber diaphragm and separately applied roof vents and grab handles. The cars ride on all-new highly detailed die-cast metal sprung trucks. The offset vista dome is also a new floor plan for 2003. An aluminum StationSounds diner is included for the added realism of arrival/departure calls, en route announcements and more. This all-new Lionel train set includes everything needed for one of the most exciting passenger train experiences available in O gauge.
