Walking downtown along Main Street, you can’t help
but feel like you have found the perfect place. A place where friendly neighbors
always wave “hello” and shopkeepers ask how the kids are doing?
Where is this idyllic place, you ask? Lionelville, of course!
Nestled in the Caruso Valley where the River Joshua meets the JL Cowen
Seaway, Lionelville is a fun town with fun people. There’s Harry
and Leo over at Harry’s Barber Shop on Manhattan Avenue ready to
spiff you up with a nice, new haircut while they wax eloquent on all
the day’s gossip. There’s Sam who runs the famous Lionelville
Bandshell, always ready with a smile, and always filled with surprises
on the next great group he has booked. There’s Barb and Jim taking
a leisurely stroll through Memorial Park watching the world go by, and
admiring the beautiful simplicity of their town. It’s these people,
and many more, who make up the little town of Lionelville.
If Lionelville sounds like a great place to you, then you are in luck
because over the course of the next decade, Lionelville will come to
life right before your eyes. It’s already taking shape with the
introduction of Harry’s Barber Shop and the Lionelville Bandshell,
but those are just the beginning. The new Lionelville line of accessories
will encompass a whole downtown, created to replicate a 1950’s,
all-American haven. There will be shops, civic buildings, schools, restaurants,
entertainment, recreation, homes, people of all shapes and sizes, and
much, much more.
In fact, as you leave the city center to the north, you come across
the industrial area that drives the local economy. Steel mills, shipping
facilities, coaling stations, warehouses and just about anything you
can think of make up this thriving economic district. Travel back to
the west and you encounter the gentle, rolling farmlands that provide
the town with food. Stop by a farmer’s market to get the freshest
fruits and vegetables in the county. Be mesmerized by the beautiful barns
and farmhouses with their impressive grain silos and work equipment.
Beyond the farms to the west, in the foothills of the Gilbert Mountains,
lies a small cottage village where Lionelville’s residents come
to get away from it all. Waking up on a cold winter morning, they can
open the cottage door to view their pristine village laid out before
them, shining like a diamond in the valley below, while children skate
on the frozen Joshua River, anticipating the arrival of good ol’ St. Nick. In warmer times, you will find these same families traveling south
of the village to the Lionelville State Park to camp, fish or swim. Or
maybe they are over taking in a day of fun and festivity at the Lionelville
Amusement Park, and capping off the evening watching a new release at
the popular Lionelville Drive-in.
There are lots of places to go, and lots of stories to tell in the town
known as Lionelville. And the best part is you will be able to build
it on your very own layout. Lionelville will consist of buildings and
accessories for every budget. From nicely detailed buildings with interior
lights, to highly detailed offerings with full interiors and animations,
you will be able to construct Lionelville in your own image, to fit your
own budget.
Lionelville – founded
in 1900, and thriving in the 1950’s,
is yours to build, starting now.
