This magnificent freight train from 1947 is pulled by the super-detailed Berkshire steam locomotive No. 726. Like all engines in the Conventional Classics series, this locomotive sports a Pullmor motor, Magne-Traction, and conventional transformer control.

Trailing the engine are four fine freight cars, including one of the most desirable and scarce of all Lionel freight cars – the scale No. 3854 Operating Merchandise Car. Originally featuring a heavy bakelite body, the newly tooled Lionel re-issue is made of durable plastic, and features die-cast metal doors just like the original. Eject the crates at the push of a button and reload the car manually through the opening roof hatch!

Also included in this special postwar set: No. 2855 Sunoco single dome tank car featuring a metal body and frame, painted black as seen in the original catalog art; No. 2411 flatcar with a die-cast metal body; and a No. 2357 SP-style caboose.
