Golden Gate American Flyer Club, Lionel Ambassador and home to 50 members is located in California.
The
Golden Gate American Flyer Club has been actively promoting American Flyer and
S- Gauge model railroading since 1970.
The club features a modular group that runs trains for the public. They
exhibit their modules at three or four Great Train Shows around the Bay Area
each year and take advantage of other opportunities as they surface. In October of 2014, they were invited by the
world renowned San Francisco Exploratorium science museum to run trains as part
of a toy-themed festival.. Every third year the GGAF hosts the Flyer Fest West,
rotating with two other clubs.
Thank you to our gracious hosts at the Golden State Model
Railroad Museum in Richmond, CA July 23-24 and July 30-31. We had a blast
running American Flyer trains including our new Lionel AF Polar Express and
Cliff's Pere Marquette Berkshire. We used some of our new track to create a
center crossover for the first time. Everyone agreed it made the center of our
layout a lot more interesting. The GSMRM is located in an old warehouse
building along San Francisco Bay and attracts 120-150 people each weekend. We
set up our modules in the meeting room adjacent to their entrance and
introduced many people to American Flyer Trains.

Our modular group did a public exhibition at the Toy Train Operating Society National Convention on August 5 and 6 in Long Beach, California. We set up our largest display ever at 29' x 12'. We set up three loops on the modules and had two All-Aboard panel sets inside for a total of five trains running at once.
