Central Pacific Brass Hybrid LEGACY 4-4-0 #62 Whirlwind You may not recognize Whirlwind, but you probably know her more famous sister, Jupiter! Both were part of a four locomotive order delivered to the Central Pacific from Schenectady, New York in 1868. In an era when few designs were duplicated, Jupiter, Storm, Whirlwind and Leviathan were four of a kind. All saw service on the western portion of the Transconti-nental Railroad. Whirlwind was scrapped by the Southern Pacific in 1900. The locomotive is modeled in the original 1868 colors as she would have looked in her first years of service in California, Nevada and Utah.
