C&O Chessie VISION GP40-2 #4176 Chessie was the largest owner of the GP40-2, with all three subsidiary roads receiving them in multiple orders. Each order had its own subtle differences. All these models represent the first order for the C&O with "Phase 1A" bodies as delivered in 1972. Spotting features from this run include the shorter 81" nose, early radiator screens and solid battery box doors (the Chessie standard "mail slot" doors were still in the future.) All also featured the common Chessie rock plow pilots and the ACI tracking tags added to handrails. Lighting features include tri-color front and rear class lights.
