Inspired by the Postwar classic as well as some never-completed designs found in our Archives, this new track cleaner uses dual rotating sponges. One is wet, fed by the track cleaning fluid reservoir. The other is dry and soaks up the excess. Fill the track cleaner’s reservoir with your favorite track cleaning fluid (or ours from maintenance kit 6-62927), pull behind any locomotive or end of a train, and watch the track cleaner get the job done. The hefty die-cast frame and the mechanical rotating action of the scrubbers really do the trick! Each sponge is constructed of a dense, long-lasting material. When not in use, the Lionel Track Cleaner’s unique “Maintenance of Way” appearance will look good on any siding, waiting for the call to action.
