Introduced in 1937, the Southern Pacific’s Daylight route became one of the most heavily traveled in the country. Cars and locomotives received a brilliant livery of orange, red and silver. Constructed in 1941, the GS-4 class joined the roster for duty with these famous consists.The GS-4 features an all-weather cab, a prototypical boiler front, and the LEGACY Control System. It includes the distinctive 235-R oil tender and prototypical 80" driver wheels. Matching heavyweight passenger cars are available separately.
