After 104 years, Lionel Still Chugs its Way into the Hearts of Consumers
(Chesterfield, Mich.,)Lionel, at 104 years young, is still chugging its way into the hearts and hands of consumers across the world with the introduction of new train sets.
A true American icon, Lionel is proud to introduce a brand new line of ready-to-run train sets that redefines the standard it set for the entire industry over a century ago. From realistic FasTrack that is quick and easy to assemble, to a "How To" video included in every set – these train sets combine performance, reliability and simplicity.
"Toy Fair gives us the opportunity to make our train sets jump off the pages of our catalog and into the hands of the trade and consumers alike," said Lionel President and CEO William Bracy. "This year we are introducing six brand new train sets including the Polar Express and an O gauge Thomas the Tank Engine Train."
FasTrack, the all new track system from Lionel, not only looks like real track, but can be assembled in minutes and used on uneven surfaces like the living room carpet. Whenever an "engineer" ends a play session, the FasTrack layout can be hung on a peg on the wall for "next time."
"Lionel has left no stone unturned during the development of these sets," said Bracy. "In the past couple of years we have won award after award celebrating the play value, quality and overall usability and realism of our train sets. The locomotives smoke and sound like the real thing."
The new train sets include the Great Northern Glacier Route Freight (6-31952), the classic Pennsylvania Flyer (6-31936), Southern Diesel Freight (6-31938), "Riding the Rails" Hobo Train (6-31953), New York Central Flyer with RailSounds (6-31958), Santa Fe with RailSounds (6-31958), Nickel Plate Road Super Freight with RailSounds
(6-31962), Thomas the Tank Engine (6-31956), The Polar Express (6-31960), Holiday Tradition Special (6-31966) and Silver Bell Express (8-81024).
Consumers can find the new ready to run sets at their local Lionel Authorized Value Added Dealer, and you can find them on display during the 100th Annual International New York Toy Fair at booth #5605 located at Manhattan’s Javits Center.
