PRODUCT ALERT: Milwaukee Road EP-2 “Bipolar” Paint Issue

Thanks to the good efforts of some of our key dealers and customers, we’ve become aware that some of the new “Bipolar” electric locomotives have a paint chipping problem between the three sections of the engine that occurred in shipping.

 

As the latest in the series of new Legacy engines, we’re very proud of the beautiful new Bipolar, and sorry for the problem.  Of course, we will stand behind our product and have identified how to best make the necessary repairs.  The paint repair could probably be done at local, authorized service stations, but to err on the side of caution, I’m going to ask any of you that have a problem with your Bipolar to return it directly to Lionel for repair.  We have adopted the following return policy for the Bipolar locomotives:

 

1.      Call Lionel Customer Service any weekday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST at (586) 949-4100 ext. 9105 to request a "Return Authorization Number."

2.      Send in your Bipolar locomotive, along with the Return Authorization Number, using the shipping carrier of your choice (ground rate.)

3.      After the repair, we will send back your product, and reimburse you for your shipping expenditure (ground rate only).

 

Just a note of caution.  These engines are unusually complex and detailed, and even after they are corrected, I recommend that you handle them carefully when removing from the package and placing them on the track in order to avoid any future problems.

 

Again, we’re sorry for the problem and you have my assurance that we will do our very best to get these great new locomotives back to you in their intended, pristine condition as fast as possible.
