The Hiawatha is authentic in decoration and style and is the only Standard Gauge train equipped with the TrainMaster^TM Command Control system and Lionel RailSounds^TM sound system.This is the first time Lionel has offered the Hiawatha in Standard Gauge.

The Hiawatha includes four passenger cars with full, illuminated interiors and a removable boiler front. The impressive locomotive and cars combine to make a nearly 12 foot long train, a magnificent addition to any collection. The set retails at $2199.95.

"The Lionel romance with the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha dates back to 1935, with the release of the original O Gauge model. In 2001, this historic set was the inspiration for our first new Standard Gauge train in over sixty years," John Brady, Vice President of Marketing said.

Lionel also introduces a new product line of 0-31 LionMaster locomotives featuring some the world’s largest and most famous steam engines. Kicking off this new series is the 4-6-6-4 Challenger, offered in the Union Pacific, Delaware & Hudson and Rio Grande road names.

Each locomotive features a newly-tooled die-cast boiler, frame and tender, Odyssey^TM System for speed control, TrainMaster Command Control system and RailSounds sound system. These new locomotives retail for $799.95 each.
